Sinhala RavayaThe police used water cannons to disperse a protest staged by the ‘Sihala Ravaya’ at Kuragala in Balangoda today.
According to the police, a large group of protesters, including some monks, had staged the protest at an archaeological site in Kuragala, violating a court order issued against the protest.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Archaeology Dr. Senarath Dissanayake said that Kuragala is the oldest archaeological site found so far in the Intermediate Zone of the country and as such the Department of Archaeology has taken all steps to protect the site.
Addressing a media conference held at the Government Information Department Dr. Dissanayake made a request to the public not to create religious issues based on the Kuragala site protection activities.
He further said that according to the radio-carbon dating done by the US institute using sophisticated technologies, the Kuragala site had five layers of human habitations from 16,000 to 6,000 years before the present age. (Colombo Gazette)

Muslim in Afgastain had been destroy many ancient arcohlogical sites by anti-religion & anti- Buddhist propganda by certain Muslim Congress extermist members . This is very dangerous trend .
Present regime in power of UNP-Ranil.W.. is base on Christain thelogy .That will harm to Buddhist sites and Temples.
We have to be careful Ranil W…regime moving to supressed Buddhist Monks?
And Ranil ongoing regime is siding with Muslims by supressed rights of buddhist..

the Taliban is a deranged group of people with no moral compass. Please don’t compare the actions of these so called Muslims, with the ones who actually practice their religion peacefully and are not looking for trouble !
Look at Malaysia, all the non Islamic religious sites are protected and not desecrated, please don’t use the actions of these terrorists as a means to judge all Muslims!
