Police probe use of altered flags

The police are to investigate reports that the National flag carried by some of the protesters outside the Bribery and Corruption Commission today were altered.
Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the police will report to court on the issue as well as on the protest which was staged in violation of a court order.
The Sri Lankan flag used during the protest did not have the colored stripes representing the minorities in Sri Lanka.
“These protesters went ahead with the demonstration despite a court ban. We will be reporting this matter to court and will seek to take legal action against those who led the protest,” Gunesekara said.
Several politicians and Buddhist monks took part in the protest. (Colombo Gazette)
