MR To Return To Politics
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to return to politics and will continue to be the chairman
of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), former Minister Wimal Weerawansa said.
Weerawansa said that Rajapaksa, who lost the Presidential election last week and moved out of
Temple Trees, will return to the political arena very soon.
“It is just a temporary retirement. He did not retire from politics. He will be back and we do not
expect such a great leader who defeated terrorism and united the country to stay home,” he
